While hunting Mule Deer in West Texas, just North of Matador, I experienced something that completely blew my mind. While sitting at the wheel, alongside Joe Betar (President of Texas Trophy Hunters Association) we experienced a once in a lifetime occurance. We were sitting in the truck, overlooking the large herd of Muleys as they were making their way from a field planted in Winter Wheat back to the rugged land that surrounded us. As we were watching, we were shocked as group after group split from the main pack and make their way directly toward us. We kept thinking "What the heck are they doing?" One by one, in a single file line, they darted straight toward us with full steam ahead and speeding up the closer they came. The first group consisted of 5 Mule Deer does and a wall hanging 10 point Whitetail Buck. We were floored when they finally stopped approximately 5 yards from our truck where Joe and I sat frozen and in complete shock.Only after each of their noses soared to the heavens did we realize what brought them in. We had an open bag of Doc's Wildlife Blend's Rack Rage in the back of the truck. As they literally drooled, with every nose locked in the upright position, they measured their marginal cost of jumping the fence before jumping into the bed of my truck. After what seemed to have been the better part of 5 minutes, they were off to the dry and humid winter pasture filled with smal cedars and sand but no Doc's, their loss. The following group that marched their way to our truck was captured on film. It wasn't the greatest footage and I have yet to get it edited but some film is better seen in an unedited version. Keep in mind that we were blown away at this great discovery so a little shaking from excitement was definitely going on. Check this out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZL2eNV5yHg
