Wonderful hunt!

I passed on 2 young but nice ten points that I really thought I may regret doing. I had 2 nice 8's and a 6 fighting in front of me Wednesday night. Nothing like an all natural rattling sequence to draw out a nice buck with the sun up. those young bucks brought him right to me and within an hour and a half of sitting in the treestand my PSE but a range 2 blade right in the breadmaker. He ran 40 yards and was dead before he hit the ground. One of my best Bow hunts and a memory I'll have forever. I havent had much time to practice with my bow this year so I wasnt comfortable with the 45 yd shot I was presented with at first. Hoping for the best I chose to wait and see if he would come closer. 7 bucks were in the field and they all one by one filtered down to my stand to graze on some corn that had been freshly harvested. The big 9 finally turned down with the rest of them and presented me a perfect 20 yd broadside shot. Just remember to be patient in the bow woods. And if you want a Pope and young caliber buck be prepared to let the nice young bucks walk. Dont rush your shots and you will have years of success in the Bow Woods. Didn't cost me any money. Really not too much time either. This was a lucky year for me. I spent a total of about 7 hrs on stand to get him. In a way not lucky though because season goes clear to February and my buck tag is already filled. My first evening hunt I had a nice 3 yr old 10 point at 15 yds but he was just too young. in 2 years he'll be a bruiser. The next evening I had a slightly heavier 10 lay down and go to sleep behind my stand. In years passed I would have never passed them but this year with all the scouting we did I knew there were bigger bucks out there.
