WOW! My Boss Took two Aoudad from my place today, 11/20/10. It is a funny story. He said that he saw them about 100yds down range, so he took the shot. He thought that he missed, because he didn't see one drop. they circled back to the same place, so he took another shot, and saw one drop. When he went to get the one that dropped he saw not only the one that dropped but the first one he shot at also. Go figure.

Hey All,

I'm looking for a chance to hunt just about anything lol! I have a few books to trade "Cartridge Comparison Guide", "My First Rifle and Handgun", and I can offer some advice on getting into a new hunting rig (Cartridge, optics, zeroing for yardage etc.) I will also swap labor/site improvement for a chance to hunt in an area.

Give me a shout if you have any ideas!

Gators in Florida are native animals I don't think be considered an exotic. Game animals not native to a state would be like Axis and Fallow deer

Negative. Allligators are a native animal to the southeast. Only non-native animals are classified as exotics. Most exotics are from other countries like asia, new zealand, etc.

I would like to tag my first axis. Can anyone help a brother out?

I am a meat hunter and a hide collector...so Axis is my favorite Exotic to hunt. Fallow is right up there also...both are the tastiest and have the prettiest hides...I lived and fished in Florida also, but now live and hunt in Texas. Gator hunting is the best in Florida...what an adrenaline rush! Would a gator be considered an exotic????

Not many here that hunt. Ones that do aren't a die hard hunter and won't go for a lease. Heck leases here go from $1200 each and some well over 6 grand

Yep! I lived in Florida for 20 years and never was able to get permission. I actually only got invited to hunt private land a handful of times. I generally gave up and hunted public land once in a while. I now hunt all the time and complete strangers ask me to hunt with them for free! If you have a few friends you might be able to lease some lands. I never tried that, but I should of investigated that option.

I don't fish much in Florida. Since hunting is my passion. If you have money there is hunting here in Florida on High fence ranches. Being from Maryland its hard to find a land owner here that will give permission to hunt their land. Even when the complain how much damage hogs here do. It's pay or not hunt

Yep. We just moved from Florida to Texas. I rarely got to hunt in Florida. I now get to hunt all the time. Florida rules for fishing, while Texas rules for hunting.
