Howdy Hunters from Captain AL

Taking a few minutes, from work at the fire station, to write to you'all hunters. If you need some advice from a farmer/rancher on planting your food plots and getting ready for this years hunting season, give me a holler. It's free and I've been doing it along time. The bucks have dropped there antlers, does are pregnant, flowers are blooming, and the bugs are eating anything green. So far we're getting a little rain and maybe we'll have a good growing season. OH, do your part, kill a coyote…See More

Profile Information

How did you hear about us? Who referred you?
Found out by googling the internet.
What do you hope to achieve by joining HunTTrader?
To do some hunt swapping. Try to gain some positive experiences in the US. I know the bucks of South Texas rank up there with any body elses so, come on and lets talk. Trying to provide a great experience in turn for the same.
Have you ever traded anything for a hunt (i.e. work, gear, hunts)? If so, what did you trade?
I'm a fireman/jack of all trades/master of a few: heavy equipment operator work, custom saw mill work, taxidermy work.
Are you Trading a Hunt for a Hunt, Products for a Hunt, or Services for a Hunt?
Hunt for a Hunt
For Future HT purposes, tell us what wild game species you would you persue on your dream hunt and where the hunt would take place?
Dream Hunt Bucket List: Big Bull Elk, Big Mule Deer, Caribou, Antelope, Mountain Goat, Big Horn Sheep, Ibex, Auodad, mountain lion, and others. Would go just about anywhere.

Looking to find some other farmer/rancher/landowners/managers out there that want to do a little hunt swapping. My biggest ranch is just under 700 low fenced acres in Webb County Texas. The reason I'm doing this is to see/hunt other country and experience new things.

Where do you aim?

Where do you "Ethically" shoot your deer?

One can look at this, in my opinion, 2 ways. First, Am I going to eat this and try to get the most meat, ethically, that I can from this animal?

Secondly, Am i going to get this animal shoulder mounted? Of course, I'm going to eat them both but, shooting an animal thru the shoulders, with any centerfire rifle, you might as well forget about that meat unless you like tenderized blood shot jello. The only reason for shooting an animal…

Killing the Outdoors

These so called hunting shows that I'm seeing on Tv, what a joke. They're all about killing animals and getting it on film. What's even worse than that is that they're getting paid to do it by their so called sponsors. They want to make it sound like it's about the experience but I know better. Ben Franklin has his hand in the pot. I hope some of that money is going to the hard working farmer/rancher that is feeding all of the wildlife. Better yet, I hope the farmer/rancher takes his trusty…

So not sure if we can hunt 2011

Allen,

Got your response, let's make it happen!  a little about myself... 55 married, 3 daughters last one is only 3, other two college grad.s. I am a career animal behaviorist, I have a business partner in Austin TX and travel there every other month.  We run a company called "Bobbi Colorado & THe Wild Bunch" we train and provide animals for the movie industry- Ant's to Elephants. My wife is Japanese and travels home 2 months out of the year Nov 18 - Dec. 20.  I will be heading to Austin on 11/18 on my way to parts out West (un-determined as of yet).  Fishing here is great, in the Winter I will take boat to Venice, LA for red fish,  the best trout fishing starts in late May and runs thru oct-Nov. I have a spare room with bed at my comfortable/clean house.  Tell me whats next???

allen,

I am open for any hunt pretty much...  bird, deer, varmit,   don't eat pork i do my share to reduce their numbers when the opportunity arises. I am easy to get along with and please.   We have world class fishing in the Breton Sound it's a 20 minute boat ride, accomodations are either at my place or the casino which is nice and cheap.
