House projects have kept me busy and the heat and rains from Hurricane Alex haven't helped matters.
After a quick run to the ranch last night, I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of greenery and quite a few deer for it being 5 in the evening. About a dozen Whiteys, all does and fawns.
Also spotted 1 Coach Whip snake (about 3 ft).
After being disappointed with this year's turkey hunts, due to low populations, I was extremely pleased at seeing 2 hens and over a dozen young turkeys in tow. I was concerned that the feral hog population were upsetting their numbers and still am.
Speaking of feral hogs, I did not see any and none were on my game camera at my favorite hog spot, but all hog logs were empty and there was plenty of evidence that they were out rooting in old and new areas.
Moved the camera closer to the hog log in the hopes that I can spot the pigs.
So now it's back to getting the shelving up in the garage.
Cheers & good luck!
