Trading Hunts
You don't need land or a gun or even a bunch of money to trade for a great hunt. As a matter of fact, you don't need anything but creativity and an open mind. When I first came up with the idea for HunTTrader, I faced a bunch of skeptics but those skeptics helped reassure me that HunTTrader was indeed much needed and with need comes success. The number one question that I faced was this..."Do you think people are really going to allow a stranger to come hunt on their land?" and my answer was always No. There is no way that anybody is going to allow somebody that they don't know to come hunt on their land. However, with HunTTrader, we aren't allowing strangers the priveledge of hunting our land, we are allowing our friends to come hunt with us on our land. This site was built to guide people with the same interests to one place, to become friends, and eventually take each other hunting with them. That's nothing like inviting strangers out on a hunt.
Another common question was this..."How are you going to trade a dove hunt for an Elk hunt?" This one even had me stumped for a second but after much thought, the answer is simple. With Dove you can have alot more hunters than you can with Elk. The dove hunter in Texas simply tells the Elk hunTTrader that he can bring 10 of his closest friends with him for the weekend and the food and "drinks" will be supplied. What Elk Hunter would pass up a great dove hunt that he can include his friends on? The Elk hunTTrader is losing an elk and gaining a great time with his friends and the dove hunter is gaining an Elk and not losing anything as those dove are on their way to Mexico anyways. Both sides are a win win!
The third question was also asked of me quite frequently and it's my favorite.
"Hey Todd, I don't have any land, so how am I going to trade for a big deer hunt in Illinois?"
The answer is simple. What do you do for a living? You're a carpenter? Painter? Welder? Dentist? Doctor? Lawyer? Horse Trainer? The list goes on and on.
"You simply apply what you do for a living or maybe not even that. Maybe you just apply what you enjoy doing to help somebody else out.
The dentist can clean teeth in trade for a hunt.
The welder can build deer blinds in trade for a hunt.
The mechanic can maintain ranch trucks in trade for a hunt.
The school teacher can tutor a child in trade for a hunt.
The lawyer can do your divorce in trade for a hunt. haha
The horse trainer can trade a roping horse or break a horse in trade for a hunt.
The painter can paint a barn in trade for a hunt.
The 16 year old kid can work for you in trade for a hunt.
And this list goes on and on!
And he that is giving up a deer, antelope, bear, dove, turkey, gator, or duck is not losing much. They are all subject to die from a predator or disease anyway so just think about your options.
With Trade, all things are possibilities. Please feel free to argue this point, I'm curious to hear your responses!
